Our HeritageMaps

The Normandy in Twin Valley, Minn., and Heritage House in Halstad, Minn., offer seniors a retirement choice that promises convenience, care and a sense of security and community, all within a short driving distance of Fargo-Moorhead and the lakes area.

Some things change for people after retirement. And some things don’t. Many retired persons find they no longer want the hassles of owning a house (shoveling, painting, mowing…. This list could go on forever!) Or you may require or desire help with meals and housekeeping. Perhaps you have a medical condition and would benefit from having caregivers nearby. Still others may be feeling a bit isolated and would welcome joining a warm, caring community.

On the other hand, you still want a safe, comfortable and attractive home, one that allows you to remain as independent as possible.

Heritage House and The Normandy apartments provide the benefits of home you want to keep, and add to that the benefits of convenience, community and care.

Apartments are available in several floor plans to meet your specific needs. All are complete with kitchens, living spaces and ample room for storage. There are also garages available. Skylights and sliding doors add sunshine and warmth to each apartment.

Security

Our apartments are very secure. After business hours, access to the building is limited to Heritage House and The Normandy tenants and their guests.

Community

Every apartment opens on to “mainstreet,” where wide halls, soaring vaulted ceilings and large skylights invite you to stroll and interact with your new neighbors year round. A community kitchen and living area are provided for large gatherings and family get-togethers. The commons area also features a beautiful fireplace and TV area. There’s also an exercise room with a whirlpool. Further down the hall you can attend church services or get your haircut.

If you’re interested in joining group activities, many are available. Staff can assist in planning and transportation is available for a nominal fee. Gather a group together for a trip for worship, medical appointments or shopping for holiday gifts or personal items. Heritage house is only 30 minutes from Fargo-Moorhead shopping centers and The Normandy is only 30 minutes north of Hawley on the way to and from the lakes area.

Convenience and Care

Each morning, friendly staff serve a continental breakfast for residents. A noon and evening meal, full or light housekeeping, personal care and a variety of medical services are also available to keep you healthy and independent.

Both Heritage House and The Normandy are attached to Living Center care facilities so caregivers, housekeeping staff and others are always nearby. Plus, each apartment is equipped with an emergency call system.

Relaxation and enjoyment is a way of life here. By leaving the mowing, shoveling and other chores to us, you’ll have more time to enjoy yourself and pursue new interests.
